We get epic file transfer speeds, basically maxing out the 100Mbps network interface on the Nanostations. Specifically, we get transfer speeds of 11 megabytes per second using windows file sharing. It is just as though we had run a network cable through the air between our houses. Reliability is great too. The connection rarely drops, and if it does it is usually the result of someone unplugging a cord somewhere.Now, one thing I didn't mention is that in order to make a good wireless bridge you need perfect line-of-sight. Much like the sensors at the bottom of an automatic garage door, the entire space between the devices needs to be clear of physical obstructions in order for the system to work properly. They have line of site with the exception of one large bush right in the path. they're set for +16dBm output and have about -50dBm receive signal strength. The speed test shows about 100Mbs in both directions. They've been running for about two weeks now with no problems at all. They've survived a couple of power outages and come back up without intervention.Setup was a little confusing. I spent almost 2 hours messing around with different settings before I realized that it really only takes about 10 minutes to set up a link. Also, it takes about 30 seconds for a link to show up _after_ the settings take effect, so have some patience when trying out the settings. Mounting was easy since I already had antenna mounts for a failing air802 link. Although these are only spanning 600 feet, I can see them easily covering a mile or more with clear RF line of site. I don't know why they would need one. On the outside of the box says: 1. Physically connect computer to NanoStation device. 2. Configure host computer system to a static IP on the 192.168.1.x subnet. (so pick anything from .2-.254 but not .20). 3. use web browser to open 192.168.1.20 (default IP). 4. User/Pass are both "ubnt". Once you are in the menu, you can setup your Access point or Client Station mode, you can also set the network to match your current network. That is the complaint I saw on other reviews, people were mad they had to change their network to 192.168.1.x network, but you don't, you can change it to whatever you are already using.
